A great, easy, light dessert for spring and summertime!
1 angel food cake
2 sm boxes (or 1 lg box) strawberry jello
2 cups frozen strawberries in juice (found in freezer section by frozen fruits)
1 (16oz) tub of light cool whip
fresh strawberries for decoration, if desired
1. Break angel food cake into bite-sized pieces and layer in a 9x13" pan.
2. Dissolve gelatin into 2 cups of boiling water, then add frozen strawberries in juice. Just as mixture begins to thicken, fold in 1/2 of cool whip.
3. Distribute jello mixture evenly over angel food.
5. Before serving, frost cake with remaining cool whip and top with fresh strawberries.
